Louisville just edges Marquette for top spot in Big East fall recruiting coming in at No.6 nationally just behind No.1 Kentucky in the  XOFan “Fall Top 30″.

Kentucky has headed our national recruiting rankings the past two years, but usually John Calipari’s Wildcats wait until the spring to grab the top spot. This has been the case, once they establish who, on their current squad is heading to the NBA, then they fill those spots with top ten talent. This fall they already have three top ten talents in Aaron & Andrew Harrison along with sweet shooting James Young in the fold and because of that the Wildcats top our XOFan/Hot100Hoops Top 30 Fall Recruiting classes heading into the early signing period.

They are followed by three schools that are all within striking distance of the top spot in Indiana who just edges Kansas and Memphis by an eyelash for the number two spot in out rankings. The Hoosiers class is lead by top ten talent, 6-9 Noah Vonleh along with top sixty talents Troy Williams and Stanford Robinson with lots of depth coming from a trio of top one fifty talents. Kansas is led by two top twenty talents Wayne Selden and Brannen Greene and jumped into the top five with the addition of seven foot big man Joel Embiid this week. The Jayhawks just nipped Memphis for the number three spot. But, don’t feel bad for Josh Pastner’s Tigers as their class is lead by a trio of of top thirty talents in Kuran Iverson, Nick King and Austin Nichols. This talented group of front court talent will lead them into the Big East next year.  Like Kentucky, all three programs are still on the hunt for spring additions, so the top spot isn’t locked up yet.

Rounding out the top five is LSU, whose class is led by top fifteen talent Jarell Martin, they are followed closely by two deep classes at Louisville and Marquette. Both added three top one hundred talents plus a high quality juco talent. One school to watch is number eight rated Florida, our top two man class, that features top ten talents Kasey Hill and Chris Walker. The Gators are still looking to add at least one more top notch talent and could make a run at the top four above. But, right behind them at number nine is a deep class at Notre Dame lead by top thirty talent Demetrius Jackson. Rounding out the top ten is Duke who added two top notch perimeter talents headed by sweet shooting top twenty talent Matthew Jones. They just edged Arkansas, North Carolina, and three more deep classes in Iowa State, Illinois and Michigan for the last spot in our fall top ten. We look for the Blue Devils and to add at least one more in the spring to stay in the top ten in April.

But, with four of our top five prospects, #1Andrew Wiggins, #2 Jabari Parker #3 Julius Randle, and #5 Aaron Gordon still available. Coupled with the fact that three more top twenty talents, Isaac Hamilton, Dakari Johnson, and Jermaine Lawrence still on the board, these rankings are going to change next spring and no one is safe ranking-wise. Especially, when you consider that another ten top one hundred talents are still available at this point too. So with that in mind, here’s our first look at the Nation’s Top Thirty Fall Recruiting Classes:
