Mick Cronin and his Cincinnati staff picked up some perimeter firepower with the commitment of 6-4 swingman DeShaun Morman from Brandon, FL Faith Baptist according to high school coach Kenny Gillion.

He chose Cincinnati because of their style of play,” Coach Gillion told XOFan. “He is a strong and physical guard and that’s where they see him playing. Plus he really likes the coaching staff.”

Morman is a slasher and finisher who can score in traffic versus bigs or stop and pop jumper off the dribble. He has a strong body and is built for the tough hard nosed game in the BIg East. He has the length and quickness to defend both the two and three spots for Cronin’s Bearcats. Lo0ok for him to add solid depth as a freshman for the ‘Cats!

He chose the Cincinnati Bearcats over Massachusetts, Seton Hall, UNLV and VCU.

He joins Cincy signees Kevin Johnson, Troy Caupain, and Jamaree Strickland in the Bearcats Class of 2013.
